Professor David Oswell announced as new CRAC Chair

The Careers Research and Advisory Centre (CRAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor David Oswell as Chair of the Board of Trustees. David is currently a CRAC Trustee and Pro-Warden for Research, Enterprise and Knowledge Exchange at Goldsmiths, University of London.

“I am delighted to take up the position, at such an exciting stage of CRAC’s strategic direction and that of Vitae. I look forward to championing a healthy research environment and culture, helping deliver the BEIS R&D People and Culture strategy and New Deal for PGR’s.

I’d like to commend Astrid for her dedication, commitment and contribution during her term, the legacy she leaves ensures the charity is in strong position”.

David is a Professor of Sociology, and from 2013 to 2016 was Head of the Department, having joined Goldsmiths in 2001. He has published widely on cultural theory and the social life and history of children, childhood and children’s rights.

Drs Astrid Wissenburg, Director of Research, University of Exeter and former Chair, commented:

“I wish to extend my congratulations to David on his new appointment. The extensive experience that David will bring to the role should help further develop and sustain the progress of CRAC and its aims to provide research, expertise and innovation for all those who support career development.
