Rachel Lambert-Forsyth is Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), where she leads the organisation’s strategy, governance, financial sustainability and long-term development.
Rachel has over 17 years’ experience in the membership and professional body sector, with a strong track record of leading organisations through transformation and growth. Prior to joining the RSM, she served as Chief Executive and Managing Director of the British Pharmacological Society, where she led the organisation through the COVID-19 pandemic, delivered a major organisational restructure, and strengthened financial performance, including significant growth in income and net assets.
Earlier in her career, Rachel held senior leadership roles at the Royal Society of Biology, including Director of Membership & Professional Affairs and Director of Education and Training, where she led multi-disciplinary teams, grew membership and commercial services, and played a key role in shaping education, accreditation and professional standards across the sector.
Rachel is known for her collaborative and values-led leadership style, with a focus on empowering teams, building strong partnerships, and delivering impact for members and the wider healthcare community. She also brings extensive governance experience through a range of trustee and advisory roles
